How To Review & Unboxing Oppo A9 2020 Andriod Review

Hey what’s up guys, it’s Shan here and this is my unboxing and in-depth review of the Oppo A9 2020 after over a month of use. It’s one of the new mid range devices thatwe’ve seen from the brand and in this video, I’ll share with you guys my pros and cons,as always and I will have timestamps in the description so you can skip to sections ofthis review that you want quick information about. Without further ado, let’s get to the video. The A92020 was released in late Septemberthis year and it’s been 2 months so far, I’ve had it for half that time now and I’llbe sharing my thoughts as well as things I liked and things that could be improved upon. Starting with the unboxing, inside the boxof the A92020, we have A mini box that has inside it a few things. First thing is the SIM ejector tool, SafetyGuide, a quick guide to help with setting up, and last but not the least a rubber case. Which has a raised fronts on all four cornersand looks pretty protective with precise cut outs. Underneath all that is the Oppo A92020 itselfwith the inscriptions over it. 48MP Ultra Wide Camera, 8GB RAM with 128GBStorage which is huge, 5,000 may Battery and Dual Dolby Atmos Speakers all for a priceof almost 90,000. N89,900 or approximately $250 to be exactwhich is not small by any means or is it?. Taking the paper layer we uncover

the accessories, which are the charging brick, headphones which are EarPods esque, and the charging cableswhich are thick. When we take the wrap off the Oppo A9 2020we get the 6.5 inch glossy panel, and on the back, very flush gradient material on here. It kind of gives me the Oppo F11 Pro vibesbut this is a newer model with a little more finesse if you will. I like the shimmer and the angles it has andI will be getting back to it in a bit. There’s nothing on top of the Oppo A9 2020and on the right side is where we get the colored power button, on the left side weget the sim slot and volume rockers and what I like about the side is the etched line thatis carved inside and makes it look really different in a way. You have a full dual sim slot section withports for 2 nano sims and an SD card. This guy is expandable up to 256GB on thisdedicated slot and on the bottom is where we get the headphone jack, microphone port, usb c port which is capable of reverse charging and the speaker grille. The Oppo A9 2020 has a stereo speaker setupand guys, when I watched videos, played music on this thing. I loved it. More about that later in this video as well. The front of the A9 2020 has embedded in thedew drop notch, a single 16MP selfie camera with the earpiece above it and there’s alsoan additional screen protector on top of it. On the back of the A9 2020, we get a whole4-camera section. 48MP sensor, with an 8MP ultrawide sensor,2MP depth sensor and another 2MP sensor which is below the flash light for macros. The fingerprint reader is beneath all thatand the logo with the designed for A-Series inscription. The device has a two tone gradient which remindsme of the Oppo F11 Pro with that similar gradient feel to it. Also general color options for the A9 2020includes Marine Green and Space Purple which we have here. I’m a big fan of the design language forthe Oppo A9 2020, the colored power button, the etched side of it makes it look great. Even down to the bottom of the phone, it’sflat and it can stand on its own. It took 2 minutes to set up the A9 2020 withthe fingerprint reader in place and from there we get in to Color OS 6.1 which is based onAndroid 9. When it comes to the display of the A9 2020,the front looks quite flush and the bottom bezel is the only thing that is a bit tall. We’re looking at a 6.5 inch display, withan 82.5% screen to body ratio. Screen resolution is not so high at 720 by1600, essentially a 720p display and a PPI of 270. It’s a tall display, a 20:9 aspect rationone to be exact. You get to hide the notch but from specificapps only and it’s kind of hidden. I also didn’t see any traces of dark modeon this guy and as far as the notification section, you get some limited options butyou can still customize it to add a few things. The navigation keys are on by default butif you want to use gestures, in the navigation settings you can choose the swipe gesturesso you can swipe from both sides and it even comes with mini animated tutorials which isa nice touch. swipe up gestures also comes with pictorialon-boarding, and virtual keys which almost everyone is used to. I’m personally not a fan of gestures soI won’t be using it.

I stuck to the virtual keys. You get to customize or change from the defaultapp or standard view to drawer view. In the app view you can only go from leftto right, depending on how many apps you have and that’s that. In the drawer view or drawer mode, which alsoincorporates the standard mode and you get an app drawer that you swipe up if that’swhat you’re used to and you also get to sort them out by their Initial letters ifyou’ve got that many apps. There’s also the Smart side bars that letyou call up on a few apps and features like taking a screenshot or screen recording, whichis how you can pretty much natively screen record unless you download a third party app. Down to multitasking, when you split screenit only shows you all the other apps that available for a half screen mode and it isnot adjustable. So it’s just 50:50 Viewing videos on it definitely looked okay,of course your youtube videos are capped at 720p but you would be able to watch native1080p videos, it even shoots at 4k from the camera so that’s also possible when youwant to preview natively but I think or in my opinion what it lacks in video, it makesup for it with audio. It sounds great of course with dual dolbyatmos speakers an speaking of sound quality, I tested out the microphone and speakers,it’s not the most comprehensive test but here’s how it performs: The Sound quality on the Oppo A92020 was definitelya plus from me. Again, the fact that we get stereo speakersis great. Even if you block one speaker, it still soundsfrom the second one up at the notch. And I must say it sounded loud but a bit thin,I couldn’t really hear the bass and kicks as much when compared to the actual monitoredsound. The microphone however, sounded good, nothingtoo major in that aspect but it definitely performed when recording audio for video natively. It also comes with headphones and when I testedthem out for a video shoot, the sounded good as well. With regards to the specs on the A92020, we’regiven the Octa-core Snapdragon 665, an 11nm chip, with an accompanying Adreno 610 graphicsprocessor. My model here, comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GBof storage which is quite alot to get for 89,900 naira approximately $250. This is the maxed out model the only othermodel is a lesser 4GB RAM with 128GB storage and I didn’t really find it on the marketthat much but from conversions it’s priced at 87,000 Naira or 241$. I like that it also doesn’t compromise andhas bluetooth 5.0 as well. As far as my day to day performance,

I didn’texperience apps crashing on me and using it was mostly pleasant. On the heavier side, when it comes to gaming,It’s got Game Boost which is meant to enhance the performance of the game, alongside stabilityin network connections and stop other distractions in terms of notifications. 15 minutes of Gameplay took about 5% whichis pretty fair I mean, its got a 5,000 mAh battery and my normal 30 minute gaming sessionsusually amount to 10% drop so I’d say it’s fair. You could notice a few Pixels in the graphicson this game which isn’t such a bad thing but it’s noticeable if you’re pixel peeping. This is because of course, it’s a 720p displayand even PUBG’s graphics was set to a default low. The A9 2020 has got a massive 5,000 mah battery, one days where I didn’t really use my device much. Stand by time was almost perfect even withmobile data on. It lasted quite long. Normal day to day use was good for me. I could comfortably use this device till theend of the day and I did so some days. The good thing is that the USB C port is alsocapable of reverse charging so basically, if you have a USB C cable to your phones cable, this can serve as a power bank to help quickly power up your device and also with the helpof OTG and you can even transfer files between phones. The A9 2020 comes with an 18W charger andsome people were reporting a 3 hour charge for me it took 2 hours and 30 minutes on averageto charge.

For the breakdown, it took 30 minutes to gofrom 0% to 22% and another 30 minutes to get too 40%, the next 30 minutes got it to 58%and another 30 minutes got it to 75% while the last one got it to 100% so yeah, 2 hoursand 30 minutes on average TO GET from 0% to 100% in my tests. Also the fingerprint reader was decently fastto unlock the device as well as the face unlock which is not infrared. I have both turned on but the fingerprintreader is just more convenient and more secure In terms of the camera: As I mentioned earlier,we have a 16MP f2.0 front camera that shoots at 1080p at the max and we’ve got the arrayof cameras on the back, 48MP wide camera, 8mp ultrawide, 2mp depth and another 2mp sensorfor help with macro shots right beneath that flash. Simplicity is key when it comes to the cameramodes on here. The front camera and the back camera bothhave video, photo and portrait mode. The extra settings come up with the hamburgermenu to the left side. On the back camera, we get an array of allthe other extras like Night mode, Expert Mode which is the pro mode, slow motion and more. While in front, we only get Panorama, Time-lapseand sticker mode in addition to the 3. Indoor selfies are fine in my opinion, itdoes preserve alot of the quality and retain some sharpness itself. Outside though, while image is definitelysharper, it does come with alot of exposure and this is seen in portrait mode as wellunless of course you adjust it. 48MP shots are usually 1/3rd in that speclist. Normal shots would be 6MB while the 48MP shotswould be 9MB and on the phone screen when you zoom in, you get 2 levels of zoom fornormal 12MP shots while 48MP shots get up to 3 levels of zoom with a lot of detail. The Ultrawide angle shots from the 8MP pixellens like more recent midrangers is also a little discolored and moving up to the 1xlens there’s a ton of increase in natural sharpness. It resorts back to the former quality in the2x lens with it being fairly sharpened but it still preserves some detail in the buildingbut not in the sky as with the 1x or even the ultra wide. The opposite is sort of the case when it comesto macro objects. The wide angle lens did preserve alot of thecolors when it comes to this and we’re sort of seeing the 1x lens being alittle washedout while the 2x follows suit. I’m also a huge fan of the natural bokehor background blur that we’ve got here. The Oppo A9 2020’s cameras are of courseAI driven and I like that they didn’t tout it too much. It definitely captures scenes whether you’retalking a green plant or taking a bouquet of flowers, text and more and it adjusts settingsbased on it. It even does so in the 48MP camera mode. On skin the A9 2020 does keep a natural blurbut also smoothen things out quite noticeably in the portrait mode. It does shoot videos in 4k and 1080p or 720p. Which looks okay but they aren’t steadyor stabilized. You would need stable hands if you plan onmoving and shooting a video at the same time. That’s pretty much it for my A92020 reviewguys, what are your thoughts about this device? Would you buy one? Let me know your thoughts in the commentsbelow.

I personally liked alot of things about it,the build quality the speaker quality, and my usage overtime was good to name a few, however, a better display may have made me really looking forward to it as my everydaycarry.
